Happy Full Moon!
We’ve got a climatic start for August; the first of two “Super Moons” that book end the month.
Super Moons happen when the Moon is at Perigee- it’s orbit is closest to Earth. This makes a Full Moon appear bigger and brighter than at other times, and this can translate to the energy/quality of the experience of that time. Typically, Full Moons create pronounced and dramatic energetic forces, symbolizing the nature of building and releasing present in all growth. Now, we may feel more emotional or have projects or people “blow up" or complete.
Are you feeling the energy build? When I meditated on this Full Moon I saw an image of Superman, flying to the Sun to renew his powers- isn’t this so perfect for the Astrology of Moon in “alien” Aquarius? And WOW on the connection to the UPA hearings last week at the waxing square!
Although classified as fixed air, Aquarius’s symbol is the water bearer, a youth pouring out water/energy into a collective space, and its Tarot card is The Star, also featuring a woman simultaneously pouring water into a stream and the earth, representing the grace and power in sharing our total gifts; physical, mental, emotional, spiritual with the world.
The sign has long been associated with both detachment and service, and features traditional and modern planetary rulers, Saturn, and Uranus respectively.
These planetary energies blend to create structures (Saturn) that potentially do not represent old, or hierarchal ones- but are created along the line of future leaning egalitarian and free (Uranus) organizing factors.
This Full Moon is a time to ponder or review our current and future place in community, collective or service.
The Sabian Symbol for the Moon is Aquarius 10:
A MAN WHO HAD FOR A TIME BECOME THE EMBODIMENT OF AN IDEAL IS MADE TO REALIZE THAT AS A PERSON THEY ARE NOT THIS IDEAL
This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to recognize, or realize, when conditions are changing or when there’s a need to work on themselves. It can imply having the ‘scales fall from your eyes’ about someone; you may have thought the world of them and then they are not the person you thought. You could wake up realizing that you’re not who or what you said or thought you were. The revelation can be amazing, but it requires accurately assessing what is and what isn’t the “Ideal”. Fleeting opportunities may present themselves. Be wary of committing before you understand what you’re dealing with.** Lynda Hill’s Sabian Oracle
The Moon in Aquarius is opposed to Sun in Leo, emphasizing the objective/subjective theme at play. Both luminaries square Jupiter in Taurus, causing a kind of exaggeration around the individual vs group dynamics. It’s good to separate oneself to get deeper clarity and perspective this week. Try not to blow up if things have been building, observe your reactions with detachment.
Breathwork, or other mediative practices help to gain clarity.
Moon’s dispositors Saturn and Uranus are engaged in aspects with Mercury and Venus. Venus is in her Retrograde journey where she will be cleansed by conjunction with the Sun August 13th, while Mercury stations retrograde the 24th. These aspects “caught” in our Moon chart show a need to review our relationships and communications.
What stories are we telling ourselves about our “role” in life?
We are whatever we think and believe, yet we need to assess ALSO how our interactions with others effect them.
It’s good to ask for others’ opinions and experiences
while we experience our “subjective” views, this refreshes and empowers our conscious experience, creating more wholeness.
Enjoy the journey this Full Moon may bring, let its guidance help you in your journey of knowing and experiencing yourself and your own evolution.
Love,
Michelle
“Earth’s sun is younger and brighter than Krypton’s was. Your cells have drunk in its radiation, strengthening your muscles, your skin, your senses. Earth’s gravity is weaker, yet its atmosphere is more nourishing. You’ve grown stronger here than I ever could imagine. The only way to know how strong is to keep testing your limits.”
