New Moon in Taurus 5/16/2026 “Speak your Power”

Although gradual growth is typically what fertile and earthy Taurus time offers, the annual new Moon in the sign comes as a potent opportunity to take action in a shifting landscape of change. This is a window of power that allows one to further develop with devotion and harmony, our souls desires.

In the chart of the event, Sun and Moon sit at 25 degrees and 57 minutes of Taurus, and conjoin with Mercury at 28 degrees. This reflects a moment where communications and thinking, especially in relation to love, beauty, self esteem, self worth, money, assets and other personal resources come up for reflection.

Zodiacal Taurus is ruled by Venus, currently in air sign Gemini and sextile Mars and Chiron exactly conjoined at 28 Aries. Mars, our will to power, our assertive style- is tied to a primary wound of self identity ( Chiron) that needs to be seen and integrated before we can heal any rifts, issues or dilemmas that have risen.

Ask yourself;

Where do deep early experiences of lack or deprivation cause me to be defensive and/or fearful?

Do I REALLY believe I don't deserve to be happy/safe/abundant?

Is it real or unfounded fear that makes me feel as if things in my life are against me/others?

How can I see that I can cast the chains off and be free?

Alchemical Venus in sextile aspect gives a clue. Sextiles (60 degrees apart) are creative and fun connections. Astrologer Monte Faber calls them “sexytile.” They want to help and have a good time.

Venus in Gemini says lighten up, I like you the way you are. We all have issues babe, and “If that's all there is, my friends, then let's keep dancing”

This symbol speaks to using your voice to speak your art, truth, power and desire.

It is time to connect and share your truth.

Remember, we may not know the outcome of our serenades, but what we can do is sing and dance and show our beauty and passion to the world.

Below is a New Moon Wish Ritual to honor the New Moon. Do it Saturday or Sunday am if possible.

Feel free to elaborate on this basic framework. It is especially important to use your voice, so singing, or chanting while doing it will help it grow!

First, choose a candle. Taurus shades of green, earthy browns, soft pink or gold work well. You can carve your initials into it, or dress with a favorite oil.

Then, pick a spot in your home where the candle can safely burn undisturbed for at least an hour. Ideally, this is somewhere you can view it. Be safe with open flame.

Focus or meditate hard on your intentions, or desires for a few moments. Really get clear in your mind’s eye.

Now, step forward and light your candle, speaking your desires out loud, then write them on a piece of blank paper, you may also write first then speak. Ask the Universe for what you want and be extremely clear about it. Remember, this is what you want to will into being.

When you are done, say thank you and close the intention with a prayer or incantation that is right for your beliefs.

Let the candle burn for as long as you can safely, when you extinguish the candle, say “for safety’s sake I am extinguishing this candle now, let it burn always in the empyrean (spiritual) realms”

Now that you’ve set your manifestation, you must surrender the outcome to the higher powers.

Trust that the Universe and your guides heard you will make whatever shifts need to happen. If there is internal work you feel would be helpful to do while the candle magic is happening, you can absolutely do that to assist the process.
