Welcome to our first eclipse of 2026, a partial one but coming in hot with a bang, via a square from electric Uranus, the entry to the Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse, and a Neptune and Saturn conjunction at 0 Aries!

In this Solar Eclipse in Aquarius we are reminded of the Jupiter, Saturn conjunction of 2020, the “great conjunction” of the social planets as it's called, which happens every 20 years. However, this one was also was the “great mutation,” into a 200-year age of air element Saturn and Jupiter conjunctions- signaling a worldwide shift from materialism into idealism. Truly a shift into a meta-physical view of reality as an idea or vision rather than simply sensory material objects.

The Zodiac sign of Aquarius is classified as fixed air, and its symbol is the water bearer, a youth pouring out waters. Its glyph features two wavy parallel lines, which could be water or energy and its Tarot card is The Star, featuring also, a woman simultaneously pouring water into a stream and the earth, perhaps representing the beauty of sharing our inspiration, ideas, talents, and gifts with the world.

Historically, Aquarius has been associated with socially humanistic service and innovation. Fittingly, it features traditional and modern planetary rulers, Saturn and Uranus respectively.

These two energies blend to create new structural forms (Saturn) created along the line of egalitarian and free (Uranus) organizing factors.

In our eclipse, Saturn is newly in Aries, joining visionary Neptune and Uranus is in late Taurus, and squares (challenges) the New Moon. (Uranus will move to Gemini April 25th)

The themes of Aquarius as social idealist, rebel and iconoclast are emphasized as disruptions and shocks liberate the impulse to act. Our North Node in Aquarius will bring these archetypes up for the next two years.

With strong Aquarius present in the collective moment, we may all find the need to express ourselves in unique and progressive ways, in service to the de-personalized needs for futuristic ideals of community and groups.  We can’t be free till we are ALL free!

In this Aquarian age, the collective yearning is to recognize the unique individual’s response-ability within an inclusive society. The key is to recognize and accept individual and collective freedoms. The theme of idealism is also furthers by Neptune/Saturn in Aries - and we will bring these visions of the future into play via Arian, “I am” energy. No one is coming to save us, you, me, BUT us, you, me!  

Pluto’s next 20-year wrecking ball project in Aquarius will include transformation and social reconstruction- of governments,  technology (especially social media, AI,) crypto-currency and NFT values, virtual reality, space and space travel, industrial globalization, social philosophy and ideals, education and more. Breakdowns and Breakthroughs will result in new forms of all sorts of communal ideas, and ideals. If its is always “one battle after another” perhaps we can overthrow a system that requires it?
